Periscope: the explosion of mobile live video


Periscope takes the idea of a live-stream and puts it in the palm of your hand in a simple, easy, and user-generated way. While relatively new, this app has gained major popularity with Millennials and the Plural Generation. It's enabled a huge resurgence in the popularity of live video and is giving the general public a straightforward social platform to share their lives in ways that were only available to large companies that could afford the technology. iMedia traveled to thinkLA's Motor City West and spoke to Scott Empringham, president and CEO of Flash Point Communications about this new app. Here's his take on why you should be paying attention to Periscope and why testing new social platforms is a key way his company finds early success to reach unique audiences.
