In the past, event or sports sponsorship was a pretty straightforward deal: title/naming rights, logo placement and various "traditional" advertising units thrown in for good measure. With the complex media landscape of today, meaningful sponsorship must move to a deeper level. Aligning your brand with a particular event is one thing. Making your brand a part of the consumer experience is another. Transforming the distribution and consumption of that entertainment takes it even further. Like all advertising in today's brave new world, sponsorship means content and engagement.
