8 Tips for Getting Online Video at a TV Shoot

Hi-Def and usage rights

Consider shooting in Hi-Def
Shooting in Hi-Def can provide several important options. For example, if at some point in the future you decide to take your interactive spot to TV, you’ll already have broadcast-quality assets in the can. Additionally, if there’s an accompanying site to your video footage, Hi-Def will give you high-quality images to work with for photos, banner assets or promotional assets like wallpapers and desktop images.

However, shooting in Hi-Def will increase the cost, so if you're not likely to use the images for any of these things, stick with standard video quality.

Usage rights
The complicated issue of usage rights is one more reason to get a good producer involved. It can be a big headache, and the rules and accepted practices are varied and prone to change. The basic thing to remember is that just because the talent you hired is there and performing for your video shoot it doesn't mean that you can use their images anywhere and for everything.

An experienced producer can help make sure this and all other bases are covered.
