Digg gets Twitter envy

Digg founder Kevin Rose wants his startup to be more like Twitter, and who can blame him? Rose recently told Michael Arrington of TechCrunch that he's working on a complete overhaul of the service.

Rose referred to the new Digg search as an indication of where things are heading. He declined to give many details about the overhaul, but he told TechCrunch that Digg needs to be "a living and breathing site" that is "a little bit more real-time in nature."

Rose is hoping to ramp up user participation on the site and would like top stories to generate 50,000 votes or more. The new changes are expected to roll out soon.
