At least a couple hundred startups are building applications and services around the Twitter platform, but only 11 have taken funding from angel investors and venture capitalists, Business Insider reports.
In all, $23.27 million has been invested in these startups, according to startups-watcher ChubbyBrain. One investor, Howard Lindzon, is invested in three of the startups, and VC firm Betaworks has invested in six of the fledgling companies.
The average level of funding for each startup is just shy of $2 million. The largest deal so far is pegged at $11 million and the smallest deal was for $20,000.
