Facebook goes after Twitter search
Guess what social media heavyweight is joining the race to deliver real-time search. Facebook.
The world's largest social media site would be wise not to let Twitter or others run away with a real-time search hit without putting up a fight. As such, Facebook announced plans to revamp its search tool to make it a social alternative to Google, Bing, and other major search engines, Mashable reports.
Facebook has already been testing the new search feature with a small group of users. Facebook said users will see new layouts for search results that include profiles, pages, groups, applications, and some entirely new search features.
