Google targets malware
Google launched a new site, Anti-Malvertising.com, to give its ad network partners greater weaponry in the war against malicious ads, Information Week reports.
The site lets publishers grab detailed background information on advertisers. By searching for either the advertiser's name, company name, or ad URL, publishers will be able to asses the trustworthiness of the advertiser, according to Google.
The site was created by Google's Anti-Malvertising Team to help reduce the impact of bad ads on Google properties, but it also transfers some of the responsibility and workload back to the publishers.
