Sony Pictures is in early talks with David Fincher to direct a film about Facebook, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Producers are hoping to sign Fincher, whose most recent film was "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," to direct Aaron Sorkin's script about the social media juggernaut.

The drama is said to center on the Harvard dorm room where Facebook was created by founder Mark Zuckerberg and his roommates. Producers hope to get the film into production by early next year at the latest, according to Entertainment Weekly.
