Facebook wishes it were Twitter

Would you rather tell the world what you're doing on Twitter or speak your mind on Facebook? Facebook hopes it's the latter, and it continues to make moves that mirror the simplicity of Twitter's popular service.

Facebook is revising its publishing and privacy capabilities again to give users more control over who sees their status updates, photos, messages, and more, Reuters reports.

But going beyond that, Facebook is encouraging users to open up Twitter-style and share their messages with the world without restriction. Facebook is emphasizing the real-time features already available on the site and hopes to increase the value of users' messages, thereby improving search and discussions among its 200 million active users.
