CEO Eric Schmidt told an audience at Cannes that the worst of the financial crisis has passed, and that it is "reasonable to be optimistic for 2010," Reuters reports.
Tell that to the legions of unemployed that grow in size with each passing month, particularly in the hardest hit regions of the state Google calls home.
Still, Schmidt believes the rate of jobless claims hint at "the beginning of the bottom."
