YouTube co-founder jumps ship

Steve Chen, one of the co-founders of YouTube, is no longer working for the video-sharing website he sold for $1.65 billion, according to The New York Times Bits blog. But while Chen has left the company, he hasn't travelled far to his next destination: Google, YouTube's parent company.

Google has been under increased pressure to monetize YouTube, deploying new ad formats in recent months to help advertisers interact with its users. Chen most recently served as YouTube's chief technology officer. He is now working on engineering products with Google, according to the Times.
