Study: 65% of users engage with social media ads
While display click-through rates are anemic, a surprisingly large number of users are engaging with the ads they see on social networks, according to a new study from Oneupweb.
The company, a search marketing firm, sought to find out if users actually saw the ads that appeared on Facebook and YouTube. Through an eye-tracking study, it found that 65 percent of users who conduct searches on social media sites engage with advertisements within the first 10 seconds, and that users often looked at paid display ads before their eyes moved on to search results.
