Nearly three-quarters of the top 500 internet retailers have a presence on at least one social network or social shopping website, according to an Adweek report.
The top four most popular social hubs that retailers utilize are obvious -- Facebook, YouTube, MySpace, and Twitter -- but retailers are also setting up shop on sites like ThisNext and Stylehive, which let consumers recommend and discover fashions with their friends.
Facebook was the most popular social network used by retailers, with 57 percent either setting up a page or advertising on the site, according to eMarketer data. One reason for Facebook's popularity among retailers is the ability to use applications to sell items without having to leave the website.
