YouTube predicts big ad bucks in 2010

Hulu better watch its back. YouTube is hunting for a suitable advertising model that will allow the streaming of full-length TV episodes and movies

David Eun, vice president of Google's content partnerships, said that YouTube's current model will not work with most full-length videos, according to Reuters. Some options on the table include a monthly subscription plan like the one Hulu considered back in October, as well as movie rental models similar to iTunes and Amazon.

YouTube currently makes very little money for its content partners but predicts it will start making substantial revenue in 2010. Increasing advertising revenue remains YouTube's main focus, but many are questioning YouTube's current model following Hulu's breakout success for streaming video.
