3 SEO boosters you're missing

SEO that works better

Search engine optimization (SEO) is a continuously changing and complex process. Yet, there are key tactics and activities that remain constant and universally accepted. While the overall importance of these methodologies should never be ignored, some can make a bigger impact than others depending on how they are used or implemented within a given SEO program.

Clients often ask me, "How I can go about improving my page ranking and keyword performance metrics?" This is code for, "Why am I lagging behind the competition?" The goal must be to take what you are currently using and improve upon it. Better SEO tactics produce better results.

In this article, I'll look at the following three areas where SEO programs often lag:

  • Goal-focused keyword research
  • Optimization of internal linking structures
  • Creation of new content

With regard to these areas, let's take a look at how to make SEO work better for you.

John thanks for this. At my digital copywriting agency Sticky Content we've been encouraging clients to refresh their copy regularly for years but it's only recently, with the google changes and the introduction of our 'copy refresh' product that people have really started to reserve monthly budget for it and really see the value of it.
A word of warning however - publishing regular, good new content isn't easy to do. It needs to be planned ahead, with strong copy formats and excellent idea generation, mapped both to customer and commercial needs.
Bad new content might tick the 'fresh' box on google but it won't build your brand or make for good linkbait.

The best way to maximise your investment if you're going to commit to regular refreshing of content is to allow for some content planning/strategy at the start of each year. If you don't, you'll end up like the worst kind of email marketer - sending out a load of content with no value to customers, just to hit an internal publishing schedule.
