Rumor: Siri will take over our lives iRobot-style
So it will probably still be 10 years or so before Siri has the power (and an actual robot body) to take over the world. (Although comic YouTube duo "Smosh" thinks she already has.)
But at the recent D10, Tim Cook confirmed that we'll be seeing major updates to Apple's AI assistant. "I think you'll be really pleased with some things you will see over the coming months," he told interviewers. Tim talked about Siri's "power" coming from its (her) ability to contextualize and understand the information people ask for.
So what's coming? Cook gave us some hints.
"We have some cool ideas about what Siri can do. We have a lot going on on this."
"Expect something profound."
"This is something that people dreamed of for years, I think, and it is here. Yes, it can be broader and so forth, but we see unbelievable potential here."
