New hires, acquisitions and partnerships within the interactive marketing industry.

Carat Interactive announced the promotion of Jeremy Cornfeldt to vice president of search and affiliate marketing. Cornfeldt will be responsible for expanding the company's leadership position in search and affiliate marketing. Cornfeldt will continue to lead search engine marketing programs for the relaunch of AOL's free portal, and will provide ongoing support to clients such as Hyatt, Equifax and Register.com.

Claria has promoted Scott VanDeVelde to president and chief executive officer and Scott Eagle to executive vice president. VanDeVelde has served as Claria's senior vice president of global sales for the past five years and has overseen partnership relationships with major portals and publishers. Scott Eagle has been Claria's chief marketing officer.

EmailLabs, an email marketing technology company, has partnered with Habeas to provide clients more insight into the delivery metrics of email messages and offer deeper solutions to deliverability issues facing the industry. Under this agreement, EmailLabs' clients will have access to Habeas' Delivery Monitor results within the EmailLabs system, and other audit and certification services will be provided directly by Habeas.

Fandango, an online and phone movie ticketing service, has partnered with eBay. Under the terms of the deal, Fandango will offer eBay users direct links to movie synopses, reviews, showtimes and advance ticket sales. 

Lycos has named Alfred Tolle as its new CEO. Tolle's previous experience includes his recent role at Bertelsmann as vice president, Far and Southeast Asia for BOL.com, where he oversaw all of the e-commerce activities in the region, and developed ongoing long-term strategies.

Proteus, Inc., a developer of mobile applications, announced that it has expanded its relationship with Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive (WPNI), the online subsidiary of The Washington Post Company and publisher of washingtonpost.com, Newsweek.com, BudgetTravelOnline.com and Slate. Proteus is working with WPNI to build and deploy new mobile products integrated with WPNI's online properties.

Sharpe Partners, an interactive marketing firm, has promoted David Kegel, who now takes the helm as the agency's creative director; Luke Monaco was promoted to associate technical director after serving three years as the firm's senior producer.

Skylist has hired Gordon Galligher as VP of Technical Operations. Galligher will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Account Management and Operations teams, directing Skylist's 24/7 on-call, technical support and system administration teams. He will be leading all technical operations including computer hardware, network security, co-location facilities, and IT operations, as well as directing Skylist's account managers.

TACODA, a provider of behaviorally-targeted online advertising solutions, has partnered with BURST! Media and Akamai to deliver critical infrastructure services for TACODA Audience Networks. BURST! Media will provide technology for ad serving and inventory management in a large scale network environment. TACODA will leverage Akamai's EdgeSuite to enhance the network's reliability, ensure optimal response time and extend its geographic reach.

PointRoll, Inc., a provider of rich media advertising, has partnered with Tribal DDB and hired Tasia Malakasis as vice president of global product management. Tribal DDB is an interactive digital marketing agency. As part of this agreement, Tribal DDB will receive enhanced marketing services and training from PointRoll for the benefit of their growing client base. Malakasis will be responsible for the strategy and development of PointRoll's new worldwide product initiatives.
