CBS Television has partnered with Yahoo! Inc. to offer free online streams of sitcoms "Two and Half Men" and "How I Met Your Mother" this week.
"We're always looking for ways to provide current and potential new viewers every possible opportunity to sample our series," says Nancy Tellem, president, CBS Paramount Network TV Entertainment Group.
The episodes of the shows had previously aired on CBS earlier this year.
Earlier this year NBC Television and ABC Television launched deals with Apple Computer Inc. to $0.99 downloads of shows such as "Desperate Housewives," "Lost" and "Law and Order" for computer and portable video devices iPods.
"We think our consumers will have a great time checking out these CBS (comedies) while they are relaxing during the holidays," says Yahoo!'s David Katz, head of sports and entertainment.
Yahoo! will not be showing ads within the streams.
