There's no denying that the overwhelming demand for iPods and other MP3 players this holiday season drives a need for music. Hitwise data shows that over the past year (week ending Dec. 31, 2005 versus week ending Jan. 1, 2005) the market share of visits to the Shopping and Classifieds -- Music category increased by 26 percent. Additionally, visits to the category experienced their 2005 daily peak on Christmas Day, with the market share of visits on December 25, 2005 up 86 percent versus the previous Sunday (December 18, 2005).
