iMedia CEO Rick Parkhill kicked off Breakthrough '06 with an opening presentation about new marketing channels.
On the first day of the Summit, iMedia CEO Rick Parkhill opened Breakthrough '06 with a humorous video of himself watching video on an Apple iPod Video-- all to demonstrate how much and how quickly the media landscape has shifted. Parkhill went on to show data from a recent ANA/Forrester Study that found that 78 percent of marketers feel that TV advertising has become less effective in the past two years. Emerging media such as mobile, iPod video, games and satellite radio have broken through and are earning widespread consumer acceptance, Parkhill argued. iMedia's Breakthrough '06 was created to explore how interactive marketing can connect with the digital consumer.
