DVRs: Consumers Avoid Ads

eMarketer reports on the top reasons consumers use DVRs: number two on the list is to avoid ads.

New digital technologies present opportunities and challenges to marketers and advertisers. Mail filters, pop-up blockers and digital video recorders (DVRs) are but some of the ways consumers can choose to avoid marketing messages. Data from Find/SVP, published in August 2005, confirms consumers' desire to avoid advertising. Sixty-two percent of respondents cited "not watching commercials" as a benefit of DVRs.
