Creative Showcase: "Integrated Marketing"

Food Network's Susie Fogelson and E! Networks' Suzanne Kolb share details of their integrated marketing campaigns to reveal how they outperformed expectations.

As the number of consumer touchpoints expands exponentially, creative teams are feeling pressure like never before. Not only do they have to take risks to engage elusive consumers, but they must also streamline creative elements across various platforms.

A good example of successful integration is the partnership between Food Network and Paramount, which developed the "Last Holiday" film. FN was involved across many phases of the project -- acting as culinary consultants, preparing and directing every serving of food shot in the movie, negotiating product placement, building a minisite, driving a local cable affiliate blitz, executing on-air promotions and creating a cookbook -- all to remarkable results.

E! Networks is also taking integration seriously. In March, it signed two exclusive sponsors, Sony and American Express, for its new multi-advertising platform program, E! Everywhere, which it rolled out in conjunction with Academy Awards coverage.

Suzanne Kolb's Bio: Suzanne Kolb heads up the creative services, advertising, strategic brand partnerships, on air promotions and design, as well as online marketing and promotions for E! Networks, including E!, The Style Network and E! Online. She also works closely with the company's international division in directing brand strategies worldwide. Prior to joining E! Networks, Kolb served as executive vice president of marketing at The WB Television Network where she oversaw the network's media planning, print advertising, integrated marketing, affiliate marketing and Kids' WB! marketing.

Susie Fogelson's Bio: Susie Fogelson oversees all brand advertising, promotions and marketing events. Fogelson, who joined Food Network from Nickelodeon in 2001, has spearheaded the development and execution of the network's off-air consumer advertising, marketing and related media planning. Over the past five years, she has been integral in aligning support for key network initiatives among national and affiliate ad sales, core internal groups and key Scripps resources, and she has helped to drive the primetime ratings within the core demographic to record highs.
