Demographic Targeting lets advertisers adjust ad copy, graphics, offers and content to appeal to a variety of market segments. In addition, as data accumulates, advertisers can test marketing messages against specific demographic groups to understand which campaigns work best for which audiences.
For example, to target potential consumers for a ring tone download services, Company A could benefit from advertising on a site like MySpace.com because the two companies share a tech savvy, community-oriented demographic that knows what to do with a ring tone:
