It's easy to find examples of flawed websites. Marketers see them every day and, for the most part, there's little you can do besides give a sigh, shake your head and renew your determination to never play a role in designing such an abomination.
Although it's easy to point out obvious defects in poorly executed websites, it's far more difficult to evaluate an already strong or widely recognized site and determine what steps could be taken to further boost the site's appeal or utility. But in fact, it is exactly that kind of optimization and refinement that makes the difference between a good site and a great site.
We asked a panel of industry experts to evaluate websites in a variety of categories -- entertainment, women's lifestyle, consumer goods and travel -- and to provide their honest assessment of where the sites could make improvements to their design, navigation or overall content presentation. Take a look at what they had to say and ask yourself: Could my website benefit from some of these refinements?
