As SVP of Search Strategy at Digitas, Melanie leads the agency’s search capability for clients and manages the Digitas Search Engine Marketing Knowledge Center, ensuring that new industry trends, strategies and tactics, and best practices are continuously shared throughout the agency.
Prior to joining Digitas, Melanie was VP of Marketing at Folio Investments, Inc where she was responsible for all marketing and PR, and prior to that, VP of SEO/SEM at AOL where she developed strategy, processes, tracking technology, and reporting, as well as managing the team tasked with driving search traffic to AOL.com's open web business. Melanie also served as a Sr. Marketing Manager at VeriSign/Network Solutions where she managed direct response marketing campaigns through online, PPC, SEO and strategic alliances for both Network Solutions and NameSecure.com.
She has more than ten years of experience in web site promotion and search marketing across several industries including travel, local, entertainment, finance, e-commerce, news and sports. In addition to her online, search marketing and advertising expertise, Melanie has a strong background in offline/print marketing and meeting planning as well.
A leading search marketing expert, Melanie regularly speaks at prominent industry events such as Pubcon, Search Marketing Expo (SMX), Search Engine Strategies (SES), ad:tech, Searchnomics, Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), and other noted roundtables such as Business Wire and the National Women's Business Center. She also sits on the Advisory Board for Webmasterworld's Pubcon and contributes articles to trade publications such as Search Engine Watch.
Melanie graduated from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Marketing.
