Ken was part of the first wave of successful internet businesses and has been involved with the Internet ever since. Leveraging a successful career in international tech publishing, he has grown several media and technology businesses, been on the team that led a $190M IPO, helped secure funding for 4 companies and was on senior management teams that successfully sold two companies. He is an early-stage investor.
He was responsible for the advertising sales of Advertising.com, ZDNet.com, U.S. News Ventures, 6 tech publications and several other Internet companies. As SVP of Sales and Marketing at Advertising.com, Ken engineered a three-fold increase in revenue that ultimately led to the $497 million acquisition by AOL/Time Warner. Prior to Advertising.com, Ken built-out and managed the 118 person sales team for ZDNet which grew revenue from $0 to $132 million in less than four years. He was part of the management team, as EVP of Worldwide Sales, that lead to the $1.7 billion acquisition of ZDNet by CNET Networks.
Ken believes that it takes great people to make great businesses. Ken loves starting, building and growing companies. He is re-experiencing the excitement of the early internet days since witnessing first-hand the fantastic and untapped potential of what he calls "SnD" (Social and Digital) media and how it has turned the marketing world upside down.
Ken loves being a dad to two great kids, entrepreneurship, photography, cooking, running, rock climbing, coaching, collaboration, travel and his black Labrador retriever – Cricket. Ken started a remodeling company in the DC metro area after being frustrated by the local offerings. He's now excited to be Co-Head at TwoHeads.Co - a new business solutions provider. Most importantly, he’s a got a serious passion for how good food leads to great conversations and lot's of fun problem solving.
