Don Mathis is an entrepreneur and angel investor with several successful exits and 13+ years of experience in venture-backed technology companies. He is presently the CEO and Co-Founder of Kinetic, a social data and technology advertising platform launched in late 2011 and backed by the BCVC venture capital fund. In addition, Don provides cybersecurity consulting services, with a specialty in cyber fraud detection and forensic analysis, to law enforcement agencies and private firms.
A seasoned executive and technology / digital media entrepreneur, Don Mathis' prior experience includes serving as the CEO of EpicAds from 2008-2010, more than tripling the ad network’s revenues in less than three years and then merging it into Connexus Corporation (Oak Capital Partners, Insight Ventures and Idealab). Don was also Chief Operating Officer and a member of the founding team of the first online fantasy sports company, Small World Sports. During his tenure as COO, Small World's sites scaled to the upper echelon of all web properties, and the company was sold to The Sporting News (Vulcan Ventures). Don Mathis has also held positions with AlixPartners, J.P. Morgan Capital Partners and McKinsey & Co.
Don Mathis' experience includes service with the US Navy, holding qualifications in expeditionary combat logistics and anti-terrorism, and where he began his career as a P-3 anti-submarine patrol squadron Flight Communications Officer (Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information [TS/SCI] security clearance held).
Don Mathis is a member of the Harvard Entrepreneurship Center “Rock 100” NY Council, and YPO (the Young Presidents’ Organization). He has served on the not-for-profit boards of the educational organization Roads To Success, the non-partisan public policy group Third Millennium, and the documentary film company Magellan Productions.
