Howard Pyle has led digital transformation and disruption for brands and agencies throughout his 20+ year career. He believes deeply in the power of creating meaningful experiences that enable brands to authentically connect with their audience. His work has focused on bringing together design and technology within startups, agencies and large global enterprises.
Howard is Senior Vice President of Customer Experience and Design at MetLife. Part of the Global Brand and Marketing organization, in this role he is responsible for working across the enterprise to establish a vision and best practices for end to end customer experience, brand voice, visual design, digital marketing and UX.
In his first year, Howard led the development of a comprehensive new design system for MetLife that launched in October 2016. Howard and his team elevated the visual identity for MetLife, including a new logo, photography, illustrations, icons and collateral to reinvigorate the heritage brand's image within a traditionally conservative category.
Prior to joining MetLife, Howard was VP of Developer Experience at IBM, responsible for the global brand experience, design and content for IBM’s relationship with software developers across all business units. He led the Marketing Innovation Group and launched a series of IBM Studios that focused on digital marketing and brand design.
Previously, Howard was Senior Partner at OgilvyOne, where he led digital on the global IBM account. He also founded several startups focused on digital platforms and creative product development.
