Joel Wright is the Vice President of Advertising Solutions for Ning, where is he responsible for driving revenue for the company through advertising and media partnership.
Prior to Ning, Joel was Vice President and Head of Interactive Media for Paradigm, a leading entertainment talent agency, where he grew revenue from zero to $20 million in less than three years through partnerships with media companies, including FOX, AOL, MSN, Yahoo!, Google and HBO. During this period, he represented some of the biggest names in entertainment a few of which include Teri Hatcher, Denis Leary and Kenny Ortega.
Prior to Paradigm, Joel ran Advertising Solutions for Yahoo! Entertainment where he oversaw and managed over a $150 million dollar advertising portfolio. Prior to that, Joel was one of the top sales executives at Yahoo! managing a multi-million dollar portfolio of clients in the console video game, technology and CPG categories. Previously, Joel was a part of the Broadcast.com business unit, where he developed Yahoo! AdVision, the first ad unit leveraging in-banner streaming video, virality and proof of engagement. It was later awarded Media Magazine’s “Best of the Net” and Macromedia's “Max” award for best streaming media technology in 2003.
Joel was honored in 2007 by the Hollywood Reporter as a “35 Under 35 Top Executives” and received the Yahoo! MVP Award as one of its top national sales executives in 2005. He holds a B.A. from the University of Kansas.
