Alex Angeledes is a highly accomplished Advertising Sales Leader with a successful 17+ year career in building and leading high performing sales teams, in both Linear and Digital Media, at the preeminent Media brands in the world. Alex began his career at Western International Media in 1992, quickly elevating to Network Negotiator before moving on to MTV Networks. He rose through the ranks at MTV Networks West Coast Advertising Sales Group, selling across multiple brands and demographics, emerging as one of the top Account Executives in the US. In January of 2000, Alex was recruited by Yahoo! to build out their Traditional Agency and Client Teams, and to lead the initiative of fostering a new working relationship between Yahoo! and Traditional Agencies and their Clients.
In February of 2001, Alex was recruited back to MTV Networks and charged with creating the West Coast sales group for VH1 and CMT (Country Music Television) as Vice President, Western Region Sales and Marketing. He built a world class sales team who exceeded their revenue goals, year in and year out, and delivered unique solutions to their advertising partners. In 2007, Alex was promoted to Vice President / General Sales Manager, running the entire West Coast region for the MTV Music and Youth portfolio. Under his leadership, the West Coast Music and Youth Group consistently outperformed the other regions in the country and grew to become a $350MM business for Viacom. In addition, he was able to leverage his unique Digital experience to spearhead a successful convergent strategy between MTV and VH1’s linear and digital properties and provide 360 degree multi-platform solutions and activations for the Music Group’s advertising clients and agencies.
After a 16 year stint at MTV Networks, Alex joined VICE Media as their first ever Chief Revenue Officer, overseeing all of North America (US and Canada) and was instrumental in bringing the unique VICE brand and value proposition to the forefront with top agencies and brands. This led to Alex’s current position as Chief Revenue Officer of Collective Digital Studio (CDS), a leading Next Generation media company and a leader in the YouTube “studio” space, with 9 of the Top 50 channels on YouTube and delivering 300MM video views per month. Alex is building a deep and comprehensive global sales organization to leverage the massive scale and branded content capabilities of CDS’ hit “Digital Influencers”, as well as overseeing the integration of the leading global video property Metacafe into the overall CDS media offering. The combination of CDS “hitmakers” and the scale of the Metacafe platform positions CDS very well as brands seek out premium digital video at scale to target the Millennial consumer.
