Matt Thompson is the director of digital and ecommerce for The Kroger Co., based in Cincinnati. He is responsible for developing and implementing the company's digital strategy to offer customers digital tools, capabilities, and developing foundational ecommerce approaches for the future.
Thompson began his career with Kroger in 2011 as manager, ecommerce, at general office before being promoted to his current role in 2012. Prior to joining the company, Thompson spent several years with Sears Holdings, most recently as general manager, online, where he led digital merchandising, marketing, user experience, content, and product management in support of the online home appliances business. Prior to his position at Sears, Thompson worked at IBM, leading web sales and programs within ibm.com for a number of different hardware and services offerings.
Thompson has B.A. from Gustavus Adolphus College and a master's in Public Policy from the University of Southern California.
