Megan Wahtera was recently named head of Paramount Pictures’ interactive marketing department, overseeing the studio’s digital strategy and focusing on creating engaging and immersive campaigns for the internet, social platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, and wireless devices. She demonstrates an ability to work on a wide range of titles with one thing in common: commercial success.
Wahtera joined Paramount’s digital marketing group in 2006. In the ensuing years she rose through the department, ultimately earning her current position of SVP of interactive marketing. During her time at the studio she has worked on many of Paramount’s most successful franchise properties including “Transformers,” “Paranormal Activity,” “Mission: Impossible,” “Star Trek,” and the “G.I. Joe” series of films. She has also played a key role in the successful launch of several other movies including “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never,” which won a social influencer award for being one of the top social campaigns of 2012, “The Devil Inside,” and most recently, “World Warz.”
A graduate of Scripps College, Wahtera began her career in the creative advertising space, eventually landing at DNA Studios, where she managed a number of high profile digital campaigns.
