I graduated from a small Liberal Arts college in Virginia with a BA in English, and minors in Journalism and Mass Comm. I continued my education at Clemson University, where I received an MA in Professional Communication, with a focus in Writing for the Web. I began my professional career at Clemson, as a Composition & Technical Writing Instructor, where I spent 3 years.
After deciding it was (finally!) time leave the college lifestyle behind, my husband and I moved to his home town of Richmond, VA, and I took my first marketing job as a Copywriter for a mid-sized Direct Marketing Agency that focused on college recruiting.
After 3 years, I took a job as a DM Copywriter at Capital One and the rest is history. Since 2006, I have worked in our US Card Brand Department, filling a number of roles, from Copywriter to Customer Management Brand Strategy, and now, in new product development for one of our 4 consumer segments.
