Prior to this role, Bill was responsible for the business leadership and management of its international business operations outside of the United States, including the Greater Asia region. His responsibilities include sales, marketing, business development, programming and regional and country management. Prior to this role, he was General Manager of Product Management for MSN’s Communication Services and Member Platform, responsible for all facets of business management for Hotmail, Messenger and MSN Spaces among others. Bill joined Microsoft over 12 years ago and has served in a variety of product management, marketing and development positions. Previous roles in MSN included General Manager of Advertising Product Management and Advertising Operations.
Prior to joining MSN in 1998, Bill was Group Product Manager responsible for the marketing of the Windows operating system to the OEM channel, including the launch of Windows NT Workstation 4.0 and Windows 98. Previous roles within Microsoft included marketing roles on Windows 95. Prior to joining Microsoft, Bill held various product planning and marketing management positions in Silicon Valley firms and at Compaq Computer Corporation in Houston, Texas, where he was responsible for the planning of its commercial desktop products.
