Now based between New York and Auckland, Derek is responsible for The Hyperfactory&acute;s global strategic growth and creative direction.<br /><br /><br /><br />The Hyperfactory is the largest independent mobile advertising and marketing agency in the world. It is also the most awarded business in the industry having won a record eleven Global Mobile Marketing Association awards, AdTech´s Best Mobile Campaign (three times; including being first, second and third finalist in 2008), a Grand Prix Media Lion, Clios, Effies, Webbys, Best in Show at OMMA etcetera. <br /><br />

<br /><br />Derek has been widely quoted and featured by leading publications and analysts such as AdWeek, the Wall Street Journal, AdAge, Brandweek, Contagious Magazine, eMarketer, Forrester and Gartner on the future of emerging and mobile marketing.In 2008 AdWeek listed The Hyperfactory first among the Top 5 Mobile Advertising Agencies in the USA, and BrandWeek listed The Hyperfactory´s "Motorola Hong Kong Airport" campaign as Idea#4 in the Top 10 "Bright Ideas" of 2008.

When not talking mobile or media, Derek spends time thinking about being an astronaut, plays a lot of poker and tries to play polo.
