It was no surprise to anyone when Digitas promoted Lincoln Bjorkman to chief creative officer this summer. An integral part of Digitas' winning team since 2004, Bjorkman helmed creative responsibility for the agency's New York and Connecticut offices and one of its largest accounts, American Express. He sits on the Digitas senior leadership team, and he works with a range of other agency clients including Delta, Kraft, Samsung, and Comcast.
According to Bjorkman, "To ignore users is to fail... users can drive everything."
Prior to joining Digitas, Bjorkman worked at Y&R, and he was instrumental in forming Sierra Communications with four partners, a full-service marketing communications agency. He has also held positions as creative director at Ryan Partnership and Wunderman Cato Johnson (Y&R).
Bjorkman has won several awards, including REGGIE awards and honors at ECHO, NY Festivals, and PROMO Pro. His Digitas American Express team was short-listed this year for a Cannes Cyber Lion.
Fun facts: Bjorkman shares a U.S. patent for digital work developed on behalf of American Express, he wrote his Wesleyan thesis on Faulkner's short fiction, and he used to report for The Associate Press.
