Three hundred and fifty people work at HUGE, according to the front page of the agency's website. But while its workforce may not seem gigantic when compared to other shops, it has certainly got the right name; what's huge about HUGE is its sheer online presence. Each month, about 150 million unique visitors surf over to HUGE-built websites. If you've ever browsed furniture at Ikea.com, read an article on iVillage, or considered dropping a few pounds with Nutrisystem.com, you've seen some of HUGE's work.
But thankfully, HUGE hasn't rested on its website laurels. Late last year, David Carr at The New York Times gave high praise to the HUGE-designed Reuters iPad app, which launched in conjunction with the Apple tablet. Meanwhile, Engadget called the app, known as News Pro, one of its "favorites." While nobody knows what the future will hold for news brands now that tablets are gaining widespread appeal, it's fair to say that HUGE's early work was impressive, helping to set the standard for digital's latest "game-changing" device.
Of course, with that kind of track record, it's little wonder that HBO tapped HUGE to design its iPad app, HBO Go.
Based in New York, HUGE is part of the Interpublic Group.
