Company description
Gickup is a group video chat-based gaming service where people can play new social games, meet friends and have fun. If you like playing party board games at home or watching game shows on TV, you'll love Gickup.
Our goal is to create a massively, multi-player, online (MMO) video chat gaming platform where people could play or watch games and where content creators can easily develop video chat games through our API. To that end, we have partnered with Propulsion Games, whose co-founders' Michael Agbabian and Dwight Smith are television game-show producers. Propulsion Games has created the first three games on our site. Each game takes around five minutes to play.
Gickup intends to disrupt broadcast television. Television only provides for a one-way means of communication, rendering the audience to a passive role. Gickup provides users the option to choose the level of engagement. Users may choose to just watch and remain a passive participant or they may choose to immerse themselves by playing games with friends or strangers.
We believe the future of interactive media is one that fully takes advantage of front-facing cameras across all types of devices: laptops, tablets, phones, PCs, and TVs that connects the online and offline worlds. We're creating a platform that engages users to have a lean back or lean forward experience in a fun, new way. Social MMOs, such as Gickup, are the future of the Alive Web.
