Executive summary
Roqbot is a social jukebox and background music service for bars, restaurants, cafes, gyms, retail chains, and other public venues. Roqbot replaces the bar owner's iPod or jukebox with a streaming music solution that is customized for each business and lets customers use their phones to see what's playing, pick songs, and vote on the queue.

For brands, Roqbot reaches consumers directly at the point of purchase and drives sales. Brands are featured prominently in Roqbot's mobile app, where they engage users via exclusive deals, rich media advertising, push notifications, social media marketing, and sponsored music. Additionally, venues display Roqbot activity on their TV screens, offering clear visibility for brand advertising and a more entertaining experience for customers, so they stay longer and buy more. Most importantly, Roqbot enables brands to harness the power of music to engage their consumers and reach new audiences.

One of Roqbot's venues -- Bar Basic in San Francisco -- replaced their digital jukebox and iPod to run Roqbot in early 2011 and has already seen increased traffic, longer dwell time, and a 26 percent boost in sales. Many of Bar Basic's customers have said that they come to the bar because of Roqbot.

Company description
Since its beta launch earlier this year, Roqbot has received an amazing response. The company beat over 500 startups to win Best Music Tech Company at SXSW 2011 and has earned extensive press coverage in TechCrunch, Wired, Business Insider, Billboard, PBS, and nightlife magazine UrbanDaddy, among others. Roqbot's partners include major beverage companies, retail outlets, and brands in other segments, such as soft drinks, fast food, and gyms.
