Keepio: connecting by collecting from Keepio on Vimeo.
Executive summary
What is Keepio?
Keepio is a social network for collectors and enthusiasts of all types to track, sell, buy, and share their passions and brand loyalties for specific items with other people who share their interests. In addition, it creates a more trusted online peer-to-peer marketplace.
The problem
Collectors and enthusiasts prefer to share, buy and sell with friends or those with similar interests first, but Facebook fan pages, forums and current commerce solutions fall short. Trust, privacy, fees and limitations of status updates are commonly cited pains of eBay, Craigslist, and Facebook Marketplace.
Established players in the ecommerce and classifieds space have not adapted their business models to the way people really shop, buy and sell among themselves today. A social platform geared towards product advocacy, social interactions and transactions has finally arrived with Keepio.
Keepio's solution
Keepio members keep all their favorite items -- both owned and wanted -- in one centralized location. This provides a means for collectors and enthusiasts to share reviews on products they use, to participate in private or public marketplaces, and to share or sell on other sites with those who have similar interests.
As a secondary product, Keepio also offers a plugin solution to connect with pre-existing enthusiast and collector forums that are already alive with product-focused discussions.
As we collect more insights about product loyalty, brand advocacy and latent interests or purchase intent, we will reward Keepio members with highly targeted deals and incentives from their favorite brands.
The next steps for Keepio include mobile applications, streamlining core functionality, and native integration with Facebook. Many Keepio members have expressed interest in using our existing features to share, buy and sell with friends, without ever leaving the Facebook environment.
The Keepio team
Dave Durand, co-founder and CEO, started several businesses, with one exit, including co-founding and serving as CEO of the digital agency, Forest Giant. He has led and developed applications for clients such as GE, Lexmark, and Humana.
Next steps: Aligning with brands
Keepio is currently seeking partnerships with existing enthusiast and hobbyist communities and forums that are focused on product discussion to build up our initial member base which already exceeds 2,600 individuals around the globe.
These members are engaging in conversations about the objects they love (outdoor gear, video games, memorabilia, and technology), and find value in this new way to share and exchange with others in their community.

Company description
Sometimes called "a Facebook for Products," Keepio, founded in 2010, invites collectors and enthusiasts to track, sell, buy, and share the products and brands they care most about.
Ninety percent of today's purchase decisions are driven by some form social influence, and this usually happens online with recommendations or reviews from people we don't know. Keepio aims to connect discussions about products and brands (in forums, Facebook fan pages and other third party sites) to exhibit brand loyalty and brand advocacy with other collectors and enthusiasts.
By offering a platform for product discussion and brand advocacy as well as tools to help consumers and collectors organize, share and buy or sell goods among friends, Keepio will redefine the relationships between people, products, and the brands they love.
