Receept is a online platform for receipt aggregation and digital delivery.
Receipts are a hassle. Consumers struggle to organize the thousands of receipts that they receive each year, each one either on a different paper size and type or adding to an already-crowded email inbox. Receept members can finally put all of their receipts in one secure location using their web browser or smartphone. By having all of this purchase data organized and easily available, returns and exchanges, expense reporting, and taxes will be easier and more convenient. Other applications and services can also be authorized to access a Receept member's data to provide personalized services such as shopping recommendations and help with personal finance tracking.
Receept is taking this consumer improvement even further with merchant partners by delivering electronic receipts directly to the consumer, bypassing paper and email completely. Receipts transmitted from a merchant partner to a registered member are automatically logged into their account, bypassing paper and email completely. Receept delivers receipts sent to non-members via standard email, in the process inviting the customer to join the service to start logging their other purchase receipts. For merchants, the aggregated anonymized data that is accumulated by their customers provides incredible insight into not only loyalty and purchase patterns within their stores, but also where else their customers are shopping and what they are buying there.
Brand partners have a unique opportunity to track customer loyalty with Receept in a way that has previously been expensive to implement and burdensome on the customer. Since Receept members are logging data about not just where they shop but also what they buy, brands can finally recognize the purchase patterns of their consumers across multiple merchants. Brand partners will be able to reward loyal customers and incentivize infrequent ones in a targeted way never possible before Receept.
Receept was founded in the spring of 2011 by Kevin Pfefferle from Columbus, Ohio, stemming from a personal frustration with continuing to be handed a piece of paper after each consumer purchase despite so much of our society information transfer and personal finance occurring digitally. Kevin's background in web application development and digital marketing has allowed him to lead both the product and business development of Receept.
Partnering with Kevin are Phil Franks and Jonathan Poma. Phil is a graphic designer with a special talent for polished, responsive designs that are a joy to both look at and use. Jonathan is a digital and business strategist who focuses on Receept's business model and partnerships while also collaborating with Phil and Kevin on overall product strategy.
Receept's founders each have years of experience creating digital applications and experiences for merchants and brands of all sizes worldwide. They worked together at Columbus, Ohio digital agency Dynamit before joining forces to create Receept.
