With social media playing such a critical role in marketing today, it's little wonder that 360i won both Agency of the Year and Social Media honors. Not surprisingly, the 360i social practice has won recognition from The Shorty Awards, The Effie Awards, and the Webby Awards. And while 360i has done a lot of great work in the social space, its "Celebrate the Kid Inside" campaign for Oreo's centennial birthday demonstrated how a brand can put itself at the center of a social movement.
Using a website, apps, and social media, 360i reached an audience of 40 million Oreo fans across the globe with a simple idea -- share your favorite Oreo moments. The movement generated a groundswell of user-submitted content, which Oreo featured in a dedicated gallery. Meanwhile, the Cookiegram app allowed fans to send their Facebook friends a coupon for a free package of Oreos, and a birthday notes feature on Facebook let fans send custom birthday wishes and videos to their friends. But the movement reached its height when #oreomoment became a trending topic on Twitter. You can see a 360i video chronicling the campaign here.
