Melrose, Mass.

This is the winner!

good2gether uses smartphones to connect businesses that do good to consumers who care and the local causes they both support. Doing good matters -- 87 percent of consumers would switch brands based on an association with a good cause. With our solution, retailers (big box to mom-and-pop), restaurants, businesses large and small, and more can let their customers know about the good they do in the local communities.

A near-field communication (NFC) inlay is embedded in a sticker (a DoGood badge), which a retailer or other business attaches to a wall or window in a consumer-accessible location. Utilizing an easy-to-use web interface, the badge is configured by the business with the causes it supports and any special offers it is making that benefit local causes or nonprofit organizations. Each badge is uniquely identified by the platform. When the consumer taps the badge, a query is sent to the web platform, and specific information associated with the business is delivered through the DoGood mobile app.

By tapping this badge with an NFC-enabled phone or other mobile device, consumers can check-in on location-based services (Foursquare), access data regarding the local causes that business supports, learn ways they can get involved with local cause organizations, find deals that benefit both the consumer and local organizations, and directly donate to worthy causes. And of course, this "good" can be shared across the users' social graphs.

If consumers don't have an NFC phone, no problem -- they just launch the DoGood app (Android, iOS), and a listing of local businesses doing good appears. They can just select the business they're interested in from the list. They can also search for nonprofits, volunteering opportunities, events, and other ways to do good.

Our DoGood Corporate Social Responsibility Dashboard enables businesses and foundations to manage and measure their DoGood badge network -- how many people are checking in, what causes matter to them, how information is being shared across social graphs, and more.

Beyond DoGood badges at physical locations, our platform can be used to include local cause engagement and "do good" special offer delivery to out-of-home advertising campaigns and even to product packaging or printed materials (using QR codes).

Social responsibility and cause engagement can now be delivered immediately, on an intensely local basis, and its effect measured in real-time.
