dmg :: digital is a sector within dmg :: events and comprises of a clutch of digital events and publications -- ad:tech, iMedia, and imediaconnection.com. In addition, the sector manages CMO Summits, events created "by CMOs for CMOs." We hold over 25 events globally each year, ranging from large-scale ad:tech exhibitions and conferences with up to 10,000 attendees to more intimate iMedia Summits and invite-only CMO Summits. The businesses employ over 50 people, in offices in California (both North and South), Colorado, Portland, New York, London, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo.
Position: Sales Executive
Location: Laguna Hills, CA
Reporting to: Delegate Sales Manager
Job Purpose:
We are seeking a sales executive with a strong customer focus to sell delegate passes for a portfolio of seven Summits within the digital marketing and advertising market. You will be responsible for maximizing delegate sales passes for a $1.4M territory with over 500 active accounts. The ideal candidate loves to sell, and is excited by the opportunity that will arise from being part of a fast-moving business. The successful candidate will thrive in a team-setting, have a hunger for the digital marketing industry and facilitate new relationships and convert business with senior-level sales executives (Sr. Director, VP and C-level). We are seeking a professional, energetic candidate, with attention to detail and commitment to excellence to join our team.
Essential Job Functions:
• Sell delegate summit passes to meet or exceed targets
• Manage Summit paid attendee territory, accounting for ~40% (split alphabetically)
• Foster new and existing client relationships to grow and maintain continued partnerships
• Maintain sales territory, with the appropriate systems (Salesforce.com), management tools, timelines, and marketing components necessary to maximize sales results
• Deliver strategic, target client briefs to management for top-tier prospects
• Maintain weekly call volume on new and existing customers
• Exceed 40 calls per day and ensuring that all activity is recorded in Salesforce.com
• Identify and contact at least 200 new prospects per summit (at least 1,400 annually)
• Keep delegate sales reports current and weekly activity growth by 30%
• Provide monthly updates on Summit sales for MOR reports
• Provide weekly update on upcoming weeks sales plan & tactics
• Prospect potential new and endemic clients in growing industry
• Utilize external resources such as The List, Crunch Base, and other resources to obtain contact information for new leads
• Review and monitor competitive publications/exhibitions and identify and convert new leads
• Liaise with the operations and sponsorship sales team to exceed clients objectives in a consultative manner
• Collaborate with Finance to ensure all payment information is received
• Co-mange one:one program with Face Time and registered attendees
• Generate confirmation and registration details for each confirmed delegate
• Serve as on-site event host at select iMedia summits, providing white-glove customer service
• Provide on-site registration and logistic assistance for delegate attendees
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years sales experience, preferably in events or the digital marketing sector
• Proven track record of consistently exceeding targets
• Salesforce.com experience preferred
• Customer service experience prefferred
• Superior communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and demands simultaneously
• Takes personal accountability and initiative
• Identifies issues (pro-active)

• General knowledge of the digital marketing landscape including key companies and innovators
