65media and Klipmart Collaborate on Ad

Online video advertising provider Klipmart teamed up with interactive marketing agency 65media to produce online video ad units containing interactive features as a promotion of Universal Pictures' upcoming release of "You, Me and Dupree."

The ad units will feature short videos of Owen Wilson as movie character Randolph Dupree on roll over of the banner ads. Other features include wallpapers and AIM buddy icons.

"The goal of the creative for 'You, Me and Dupree' was to provide an online-specific way to engage users and communicate the spirit of the movie," says Klipmart VP of Sales for the Southeast Mark Wilson. "Our research shows that users prefer interactive elements in online ads, and the original content of these videos offers the added bonus of presenting footage they haven't seen anywhere else."

The video ad units build on 65media's larger viral feature, "Wisdom of Dupree," which gives fans the ability to ask Dupree questions. The movie website also includes a "Tour Dupree" bike racing game.
