Dell Corp. has launched its only company blog called One 2 One.
The company has been the focus of many critical blogs, such as when blogger Jeff Jarvis had experienced bad customer service and posted his comments on his blog BuzzMachine.
Dell says their new blog was created to establish communication channels with their customers.
"You are encouraged to speak in an honest, informal voice and to foster productive, candid dialogue that can help us learn from each other. We'll listen, as well as post, and ensure we engage in two-way conversations. Our intent is to provide a timely and accessible alternative to more formal, one-way channels of communication," according to a Dell statement.
Blogging experts such as iMedia contributor Steve Rubel and author of Micro Persuasion blog says that the Dell blog is not truly engaging the consumer.
"Dell really failed to get the blog going the way that they could have. This was a golden opportunity for the company. They could use the blog to engage the community in a genuine conversation on the critical issues that have dogged them for years now as well as the good things they are doing," says Rubel in his blog.
