Pontiac Advertises Online Only

Earlier this month, Foster's beer announced that it would only advertise online in the U.S. Now Pontiac has announced that all advertising for its G5 model will be online. The car is aimed at a young male population, a prime audience for interactive advertising.

So far, the approach has paid off. Mark-Hans Richer, Pontiac's marketing director, notes that the model's online advertising blitz will cost only 30 to 40 percent of a traditional car launch. The campaign has been under way for a month and a half; sales are already 185 percent of expectations for the month of August.
