Apple and Wal-Mart in Movie Deal Talks
Apple Computers Inc. and Wal-Mart Inc. are negotiating a deal that would give Wal-Mart a cut of iTunes movie download sales in exchange for selling digital download coupons, Variety reported.
Earlier this year Wal-Mart was rumored to be pressuring the studios not to sign up with Apple because it feared the downloads would be lower their price on DVDs. The potential alliance may make movie studios more comfortable about adding their movie libraries to the Apple iTunes store.
Disney is the only studio to sign up with Apple and offer movie downloads on iTunes.
