CBSNews.com and Answers.com Team Up

CBSNews.com and Answers Corporation, the creator of Answers.com, jointly launched a new interactive search tool enabling web users to obtain additional information on selected CBSNews.com contents.

The deal is seen as a co-branding agreement. CBSNews.com is free and ad-supported.

AnswerTips, the web-based and CBSNews.com-accessed tool, will provide definitions, biographies, historical background, maps and countless other relevant information, by simple pressing and holding the ALT key while clicking on any word or phrase of interest.

"CBSNews.com is committed to providing our audience with the latest breaking news and the deepest background materials available anywhere," said Betsy Morgan, senior vice president, CBS Digital Media. "This partnership with Answers Corporation gives us another tool to reach that goal."

As a partner, CBSNews.com will provide headlines as well as breaking and current news stories to the Answers.com website.

Last week YouTube, Inc. and CBS announced the launch of a free and ad-supported CBS brand channel www.youtube.com/cbs
