Disney Shares Content on Comcast C-TV

The Walt Disney Co. is teaming up with Comcast to offer some of its Disney and ABC programming on the cable giant's broadband and video-on-demand (VOD) service, reports Business Week.

The two companies are expected to announced a new TV portal, code-named C-TV, according to Business Week.

"The deal is all about Comcast wedging itself into an online content company and using Disney as a partner to get there," says UBS analyst Aryeh Bourkoff.

Last year Disney teamed up with Apple Computer Inc. in a landmark deal to bring downloadable episodes of ABC shows "Lost" and "Desperate Housewives" to the Apple iTunes store. In March of this year, Disney/Apple reported that Disney video content has surpassed 4 million downloads on the Apple Inc. iTunes online store.

Earlier this month Disney announced that it is relaunching Disney.com.  Also, the company expects internet and download revenues could total $700 million in 2007.
